May 13, 2017 W4W yearly seminar „Reach out hand!” took place in Valmiera. In past we have had these seminaries taken place in Riga, but this time W4W volunteer Vita Bitte invited us to Valmiera. Theme of seminar was: „Does church has place for people with disabilities?”
Kaspars Apinis, W4W leader and Vita Bitte started with introduction. Later Vita was telling her testimony, what was followed up with testimonies from Santa Survila (W4W) and known musician Diana Ponaskova. Kaspar was later sharing of W4W goals and Baiba Baikovska (W4W) gave an overview of myths what holds back churches of including people with disabilities. Later Ailita Kuka (W4W) explained how church can organize „Disability Sunday” and Katie Leatherwood (Design to Live), missionary from Texas, shared of ministry [PAUZE] (Pause). [PAUZE] is a time dedicated to serving families and individuals affected by disabilities.
